Inspired Learners Academy (ILA) is looking for a Provisional License Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with a bachelor’s degree who wants to become a licensed Special Education Teacher while gaining hands-on experience in an ABA-based therapeutic day school.

Current RBTs, behavior technicians, paraprofessionals, and others already working with students with autism are strongly encouraged to apply!

With an approved alternative or provisional teaching license, eligible candidates may be able to teach while completing their Special Education licensure program.

Position Details

  • $55,621 annual salary
  • 177-day school calendar
  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
  • Equivalent to approximately $45/hour based on scheduled school days/hours
  • Full benefits
  • Up to $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement with a signed 3-year teaching commitment to ILA

What You'll Do

  • Lead a classroom serving students with autism and individualized learning needs
  • Develop and implement individualized academic instruction
  • Support students' IEP goals and educational programming
  • Work closely with BCBAs and RBTs to integrate educational and behavioral programming throughout the school day
  • Create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills
  • Collaborate with related service providers, school leadership, families, and other members of the educational team
  • Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and professional developments
What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Eligibility for an appropriate Illinois provisional or alternative teaching license
  • Willingness to enroll in or currently be enrolled in a Special Education licensure program
  • Passion for working with students with autism and other learning or behavioral needs
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to provide structure, consistency, patience, and flexibility
  • Experience in ABA, special education, education, or working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred
